A mixed media painting of 12 sunfish in the sunlit shallows of a lake. These fish and the crayfish are very common in the waters of Ontario. The metallic leaf is a zinc/copper alloy and is meant to help depict the sun's warmth and brightness. It is impossible to capture sunlight with artist's pigments but the reflective qualities of metallic leaf almost do it.
